Chakras are spinning wheels of energy that are often associated with specific organs, endocrines, issues, emotions, colors and elements. The lower three chakras are considered masculine in nature because it’s active, it grounds us and are usually concerned with the material world while the higher three are feminine and associated with self-reflection and the spiritual aspects of life. The heart chakra is the balance between the masculine and feminine energy and is often used to balance the other chakras.

It’s not really important that the chakras are 100% balanced, they just just be balanced in relationship to each other and have a harmonious relationship among themselves.

Root

Located at the base of the spine, the root chakra works with the spine, bladder, blood, kidneys, male reproductive organs and works with the basic trust.

When it’s overactive, our personality can seem bossy, domineering, egoistic, greedy, and violent. Emotionally we won’t be feeling emotionally safe.

An underactive root chakra can make us feel unloved, sexually inadequate, frustrated, and fearful. Most people who suffer an underactive root chakra might suffer low self-esteem and, sometimes, depression.

A balanced root chakra makes us feel grounded, we feel a sense of belonging, trust, and makes us feel independent.

Sacral

The Sacral Chakra is located just below the navel and associated with the lymphatic and circulatory systems, kidneys, adrenals, skin, and the female reproductive system.

An overactive chakra makes the person crave for power and make us seem manipulative. An underactive chakra makes us shy, guilty of everything, concerned with what other think and might be playing the victim card a bit too much.

On the other hand, a balance sacral chakra makes us friendly, passionate, full of life, fulfilled sexually and playful.

Solar Plexus

Located under the sternum and associated with the nervous system, the stomach, the gall bladder, the large intestine, liver, and the pancreas.

An overactive Solar Plexus can make us seem judgemental, stubborn, critical, and can seem like a bully. Meanwhile, an underactive Solar Plexus can make us suffer a low self-esteem, procrastinate, be apathetic, and we could feel like we’re constantly taken advantage of.

A balanced chakra can make respect for ourselves and others, feel confident, calm, and can help us solve problems easily.

Heart

The Heart chakra is located in the center of the chest and is associated with circulatory and respiratory system, arms, hands, shoulders, ribs, breast, diaphragm, and thymus.

An overactive Heart chakra can make us feel a sense of entitlement as well as the power of blaming others or feeling like we’re giving too much. An underactive chakra can make us fear rejection and feel unloved, neediness, and self-pity.

A balanced chakra will make us feel loved, loving, empathetic towards others and can inspire these qualities out in others.

Throat

Located at the base of the throat area and associated with the thyroid, larynx trachea, ears, nose, teeth, mouth, and throat.

An overactive throat chakra can make us speak too much, which is boring to others, and can make us feel like we have the right to criticize and can make us stubborn. An underactive chakra can give us a difficulty in expressing our personal truth and we get a bit timid as well as fear talking in public.

A balanced Throat chakra can help us express our true self as well as connect with our creativity easier.

Third Eye

The Third Eye chakra is located in the middle of the forehead and associated with the pituitary glands, eyes, nose, skeletal system, and the ears.

When your Third Eye is overactive, you might feel a bit spaced out, worried, lost, and might be seen as someone who is living in a fantasy world. An underactive chakra won’t let us see the big picture easily and can let us be easily influenced, confused about our purpose in life, and make us doubt ourselves a lot.

A balanced chakra can make us tap into our intuition and make us feel charismatic, wise, and understand our purpose.

Crown

Located at the top of the head, it’s associated with the brain, nervous system, and pineal gland.

An overactive chakra can make us feel addicted to spirituality and feel the need to be popular and crave attention. An underactive Crown chakra won’t give us the chance to have fun, deny spiritual connection, and make us feel misunderstood.

A balanced Crown chakra gives us joy and wisdom, connecting us to the source or higher power.
